05/04/2023: A short move
What a lovely morning! We got to sleep in and Andy had time to make his coffee before we set out on another nice long walk around the train museum. We stumbled upon the museum thanks to Harvest Host, a membership program that lets self-contained RVers like us to stay overnight for free at unique locations such as wineries, breweries, farms, and museums across the United States, Canada, and Europe. All we have to do is make a purchase or donation to support our hosts in exchange for a complimentary stay. It's a great way for us to explore new destinations and fill in gaps between campgrounds.
Speaking of campgrounds, we use an RV-safe travel app to ensure we don't end up on any dirt roads or under low overhangs. The app said our next destination was 42 minutes away, but six minutes later we arrived. Andy had some choice words for the app, so I don't think we'll be using it anymore.
We're spending the night at the Water Wheel RV Park and Campground right on the Williamson River. It's absolutely beautiful and our favorite spot so far. Andy accidentally booked us for just one night, but we're definitely coming back. The grounds are pristine, and quiet, and there are even two off-leash areas for me to run and play. I even dared to jump into the river to chase a pair of geese. The water was cold, but I didn't mind.
Tomorrow, we're heading to another campground just 30 minutes away where we'll stay for five days. Can't wait to see what adventures await us there!
Happy Tuesday!
